The Jasmine Riviera

3 days

Day 1: Afternoon arrival in Siderno, cocktail. Excursion to the medieval town of Gerace, known as the ‘ Florence of the South’. Visit to the Cathedral (the largest in all Calabria), the Church of St. Francesco, and local artisan shops. Return to hotel, dinner and dancing/entertainment. Overnight stay.

Day 2: Breakfast. ‘Coast to coast’ excursion. Visit to Reggio Calabria, and the famous bronze statues of Riace at the National Museum. Lunch in a typical restaurant. Stop in Scilla and S. Elia Peak. Return through the enchanting Aspromonte. Dinner, followed by a night of folklore, dancing the Tarantella with dancers in typical ancient dresses. Overnight stay.

Day 3: Breakfast. Excursion to Stilo, visit to the Byzantine Cathedral and Historical Centre. Stop over on the way to the hotel at a bergamot plantation, trying the famous liqueur and with the possibility to buy local products. Farewell lunch, souvenir offered to Ladies; departure. Day 2: Breakfast. Excursion to the medieval town of Gerace, visit the archaeological sites of Locri; return for lunch. Afternoon: excursion to Stilo, visit to the Byzantine Cathedral and Historical Centre. Stop over on the way to the hotel at a bergamot plantation, trying the famous liqueur and with the possibility to buy local products. Typical dinner accompanied by the music of a little organ; return to the hotel, overnight stay.

Day 3: Breakfast. Excursion to Tropea, one of Calabria’s most beautiful places. Visit to the Cathedral and Old Town, stop by the “Affaccio” and its breathtaking view over the Tyrrhenian sea. Lunch in a typical restaurant. Dinner, followed by a night of folklore, dancing the Tarantella with dancers in typical ancient dresses. Overnight stay.

Day 2: Breakfast. Excursion to Reggio Calabria, and the famous bronze statues of Riace at the National Museum. Visit to Messina and Taormina. Lunch in a restaurant in Taormina and visit of the town and its world famous Theatre. Return to hotel for dinner, overnight stay.

Day 3: Breakfast. Morning free. Lunch. Excursion to Caulonia (Greek Kaulon). Visit to the 6th and 7th Centuries churches and their treasures. Visit the Civic Museum. Back to the Hotel for a typical dinner, rounded by warm hospitality and folkloristic music. Overnight stay.

Day 4: Breakfast. Free day. Full board by the Hotel. After dinner Folklore Night, dancing the Tarantella with dancers in typical ancient dresses. Overnight stay.
